APPLICATION FORM
Major importers, distributors,
manufacturers and suppliers in Australia of bakery equipment have
formed an association: BESA (Bakery Equipment Suppliers Association),
it is the only equipment association in Australia formed specifically
to support the baking industry.
Major bakery suppliers throughout Australia have held regular meetings
over the past 18 months and on the 9th of September 2003 it was agreed
that an association dedicated to the baking industry would be of
long-term benefit to the industry. BESA had during this period
received support from NAFES (National Association of Food Equipment
Suppliers) and it was decided that BESA would become an association
under the umbrella of NAFES.
One of the first issues to be tackled by the group has been
exhibitions, and the confusion that currently exists within the bakery
industry as to which ones are best attended by the baking industry.
It was unanimously agreed that ICTF 2004, being held in Sydney from
the 8th until the 11th of August, was the most appropriate exhibition
venue for BESA members. This exhibition has been well attended by both
large and small retailers and wholesalers. Informed members of the
baking industry, who wish to update their equipment and/or knowledge
on the latest equipment and technology available from both Australian
and overseas manufacturers attend this exhibition regularly.
The President of the group, Carl Wassman explains: The BESA group will
meet regularly with the intention to increase knowledge, bring back
proficiency and to support the baking industry, to the benefit of
equipment users and the entire baking industry in general. |
