Welcome back to another issue of LEADING EDGE

Bakery & Food Service Journal

What a wonderful start to the year for our Industry. News from Italy that Team Bakery Australia have again conquered some of the best master bakers from Europe to place third overall in the International Baking Competition, the SIGEP Bread Cup.

The team placed first in the Showcase Display category.

Well done team and thank you to all those who contributed to the team’s efforts particularly the Sponsors and not least of all the team members who gave up a significant amount of their own time to compete.

In this issue we have two major feature stories. The first is on Refrigeration Equipment and the second is on Bakery Ovens. I hope you enjoy the articles.

The next few months will be a busy one as there is Fine Food Queensland happening in March, and then in June there will be the Bakery Equipment feature show – FSA expo - which will also see Bakery Australia in action again.

The Australian Artisan Baking Cup and the National Baking Competition look like they will be bigger and better.

Details and entry form regarding the National Baking Competition are featured in this issue and are available on our website www.leadedgejournal.com.au or can be obtained by calling me on 03 9773 4266. Entries are to be submitted by the 7th June 2010, so start planning now to take on bakeries from around Australia.
