Michel’s Patisserie founded in 1987 in Hornsby, NSW by Noel Roberts and Noel Carroll are the only Franchiser to win the "Franchise System of the Year" Award over four consecutive years.

Today they have 100 successful retail outlets throughout Australia. Their uniqueness lies in their range of over 300 products including special occasion cakes and wedding cakes. With all the products baked at a central bakery and distributed fresh each morning, Michel’s Patisserie in Australia is an excellent choice for intending franchisees. At the end of the day each store simply sends an order to the central bakery.

Michel’s Patisserie took the backbreaking business out of operating a retail bakery by isolating the production from the point of purchase, which also minimises the retail space rental, as only cabinet space is required.

A very attractive option for intending Franchisees is the fact that Michel’s is not a royalty-based system. They provide all the training and support required and have in place a comprehensive marketing strategy.

Michel’s Patisserie at Shellharbour in NSW opened in October 1997 and has experienced continuous growth over this period. They have one of the highest increases in growth out of all Michel’s Patisseries in Australia. They have increased their weekly sales by 25%, which is a great feat.

They have been recently nominated as a finalist in the Southern Illawarra Business and Tourism Awards against fierce competition.

Bob and Cheryl Beveridge, (pictured above) the owners of the Shellharbour store, pride themselves on the highest customer service, local marketing and merchandising, which they believe are the three elements which make their store a success.

Michel's Patisserie

Michel's Patisserie has recently opened the largest specialist patisserie bakery in the world with a giant Michel's logo written onto the roof, which is visible from planes flying overhead.

The Michel's Patisserie chef's head is a colossal 38 metres high and the Michel's Patisserie wording is 4.2 metres high and 60 metres long. The logo took four signwriters, four weeks to complete, 350 hours in total and required 120 litres of red and black enamel paint. Craig Behringer is the principle of De Sign Signage at Lidcombe, the company that carried out the job.

"It was one of the biggest jobs we have ever done. We took a plan of the roof of the building and did a digital enhancement on our computer. Then we plotted a large scale drawing on a square metre board grid and sketched, freehand, the logo in wax pencil onto the roof.

"One letter at a time was painted and to make sure we had the right perspective, we used a 12 foot high ladder to check each one", said Craig.
